Leaflost, 1099. There is weeping in the Grove. Brigands have begun to prey on the protectors of the forests, in particular the rangers and animists. One such animist fled to the protection of the guildhouse, and what followed was indeed an unpleasant, and dire result. |
The acknowledged head of this band of brigands was none other than Ender, a grizzled bear known for his cruel and sadistic qualities as a fighter and a leader. To the dismay of the animists, it was this man-bear who forced his way into the guildhouse, and discovering no-one-at-home, took his leisure. He stumbled, surprised, to find a door left unlocked...it was the nursery of the Animists guild. |
There, asleep in their cribs, were the children of the guildmistress of the animists at the time, Lyonesse Silvermoon (formerly Satori). Ever the opportunistic, the scheming brigand snatched Slaine, one of the two boys, from his crib, his massive paws fumbling with the child, the dull thump of Slaine's head hitting the ground. |
Avalon was littered with notices of sale for the young babe, the price for the children demanded would rival the treasure trove of a dragon, or a god, such was the extremity of the ramsom. Ender expected the guild to run to the help of their guildpatron of the time...shrugging the action off as an effortless way to get out of trouble. What else could they do? |
As a twisted turn of fate would have it, indeed, a god did step forward to claim the child as prize, but not the god of Compassion, as the protectors of Life had hoped. It was Nostradamus, god of Darkness, and for this life he paid Ender a leather coat. A low blow to the couple, Fireforge and Lyonesse Silvermoon never fully recovered. |
Thus he was, as all of Lyonesses natural-born children, murdered by Nostradamus and now form part of his throne. |
